I bought BORROWBY BELSTAR (Barbie) in 1989 from Lu and Nigel Boase. She came to me in foal to their stallion MR HARMON ZERO and the resulting filly was HARMON BEE BOUNCER (Geena). I was so taken with the QH temperament that I went back two years later when Lu was selling Barbie's older daughter HARMON BELSTAR also by Mr Harmon Zero. She was not with me very long as a friend fell in love with her and bought her from me! This friend has since bought two more of Barbie's babies, the latest of which, BELSTAR RED FALCON,was kept as a stallion until recently. He was one of the first crop of foals by Jimbo. He is at present with Bruce Lawrence and has been shown quite successfully.
Barbie's eldest daughter, BELTANE STAR, was a very successful driving horse with many wins to her credit before her sudden death a few years ago.
In 2001 Geena had her first foal to Jimbo, a filly, CRIOCH TAWNY BEE (Cody) making Barbie a granny.
Since 1989 there have been several more Quarter Horses brought to this area and I like to think that Barbie was responsible for much of the local enthusiasm.
